Experience: Fun!
On Wednesday we ventured out to the Irvine Food Truck lot and our first stop was The Lime Truck. We ordered the Lamb Sandwich, Carnitas Fries, and Cactus Pear Limeade.
There is something fun about the food and crew of the Lime Truck. It was clear Daniel (CEO/Visionary) recognized Nick as a regular.

The menu changes daily |
- C: The Carnitas Fries - Don't mistake this fry dish as a side, it's a meal! And it's too good to share so just embrace it. I always like to try the major components solo before jumping into the whole dish. this tells me the quality I can expect. The fries were flavorful and crispy and the pork was moist. Together with the toppings, it made for a filling and delicious dish that I barely let Nick try. The Cactus Pear Limeade had a very mild flavor, I was expecting more kick.
- N: The Yum Yum Lamb Sandwich - With my first bite, I thought this take on the gyro was surprisingly hot. It just turned out my bite was loaded with sriracha. The ground lamb patty was an odd fit in the pita bread, but it sure was tasty. The cool homemade tzaziki sauce provided a balance between the heat from the marinated lamb and sriracha.

The following day we headed to Central Park West in Irvine for a Cluster Truck event. This time we were in the mood for dessert so we got a Strawberry Basil Limeade and Caramelized Bacon rice crispy treat. Yep, bacon and marshmallow. Sounds so wrong, but tasted so right.

It's impossible to not need more of this. |
- C: I could only eat about 3 bites of the bacon crispy treat, because it was too rich and too decadent for more. The strawberry flavor of the Strawberry Basil Limeade was good, but it tasted a little watered down and lacked the light kick I like from limeades.
- N: I need a tray of the caramelized bacon rice crispy treats. This is a dessert that can launch it's own truck. I would follow these treats wherever they go. They are that good.
